MSG Manuel Montehermoso

Master Sergeant (MSG) Montehermoso, Manuel was born in Portland, Oregon. He enlisted into the Army as a 12B Combat Engineer on 8 January 2009. Upon entering the Army, MSG Montehermoso attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. After completing back to back 1SG positions, MSG Montehermoso received orders to report to 91麻豆天美 (USF) in July of 2025 to be a Senior Military Science Instructor for the Army ROTC program at USF. MSG Montehermoso is married to his beautiful wife Mrs. Jennifer Montehermoso. He has two sons: Trey (17), Junior (13) and two daughters: Brooklyn (12) and Dail (10). He enjoys riding his motorcycle, building firearms, playing baseball and collecting whiskey.

October 2010 to October 2011 (Operation New Dawn) Kirkuk, Iraq.
February 2013 to October 2013 (Operation Enduring Freedom XIII) Jalalabad, Afghanistan
June 2017 to March 2018 (Operation Freedom's Sentinel) Bagram, Afghanistan

ASSIGNMENTS

After completion of OSUT in April he was assigned to Charlie Co, 1-1 BSTB located at Fort Riley, Kansas where he served as a Bradley Fighting Vehicle Operator. In 2012 MSG Montehermoso reported to the 937th Route Clearance Co, 8th EN BN at Fort Hood, TX. 937th Clearance Company reintegrated, reflagging under the 20th EN BN. He served as a Squad Leader. 2018 MSG Montehermoso reported to the 570th Sapper Co, 864th EN BN at JBLM, WA. He was selected to serve as a Platoon Sergeant. In 2019 MSG Montehermoso conducted an intra post transfer to 3-364 BEB, 189 CATB where he served as a Combat Engineer OC/T. In 2023 MSG Montehermoso reported to Fort Hood where he assumed responsibility as a 1SG for the Headquarters & Headquarters Troop in the Regimental Engineer Squadron in 3dCR. He was hand selected to then take responsibility as a 1SG for the Regimental Headquarters & Headquarters Troop in April of 2024.

MSG Montehermoso's military education includes Combatives Level 1, Bradley Fighting Vehicle Operations and Maintenance, R2C2 Operator, Basic Leaders Course, Combat Life Savers Course, Mobile Retention Training, R2C2 Sapper, TC-AIMS II Unit Movement I, Master Resilience Training, Advanced Leaders Course, R2C2 Leader, Engineer Explosive Ordnance Agent, Senior Leaders Course, Pre-Master Gunner, Master Gunner Common Core, Company Commander/1SG Pre-command Course, Common Faculty Development Instructor Course, Lean Six Sigma Yellow & Green Belt, Battle Staff, and Master Leaders Course.

He holds a AAS in Firearms Technology from Sonoran Desert Institute
