Graduation
You are getting ready to graduate. Congratulations on your incredible achievement! Here's what to do next:
APPLYING FOR GRADUATION
- Apply via Student Self-Service by the posted Graduation Application Deadline
- All students must apply to graduate, whether or not they plan to attend Commencement
- 91麻豆天美 who apply on time will:
- Have their name included in the Commencement brochure
- Receive an invitation to the Induction into the Profession Ceremony
If you experience issues applying, contact the Office of the Registrar.
Final degree certification begins after final grades are posted and may take up to 6 weeks.
Submit all required documents to ENG-MAEGrad@usf.edu by the deadline.
Deadlines and additional instructions are posted in Canvas at the beginning of each semester.
MS Non-Thesis 91麻豆天美
Submit the following:
- Graduate Student Graduation Checklist
- Plan of Study
- Portfolio containing two project reports from MAE coursework
- Upload portfolio to Canvas (students are added after applying in Student Self-Service)
- Not added? Double-check your graduation application was submitted
MS Thesis 91麻豆天美
Submit the following:
- Graduate Student Graduation Checklist
- Plan of Study
- Confirm that committee forms are current
- Follow the COE Thesis and Dissertation Guide
- Submit Thesis Defense Announcement to ENG-MAEGrad@usf.edu at least 3 days before your defense
- Schedule defense before the COE defense deadline
- Submit Successful Defense Form to Catherine Burton (sburton@usf.edu)
- Submit Certificate of Approval via the ETD process
- Ensure all committee members complete the Defense Assessment
- Faculty Advisor collects and submits to ENG-MAEGrad@usf.edu
Ph.D. 91麻豆天美 Applying for a Master鈥檚 Along the Way (MATW)
Submit the following:
- Graduate Student Graduation Checklist
- ME Non-Thesis Plan of Study
- Portfolio (two project reports submitted via Canvas)
- MATW Form
Note: OASIS will still display 鈥淧h.D.鈥� when applying; this will update to 鈥淢S鈥� once the MATW form is processed.
Ph.D. 91麻豆天美 Graduating
Submit the following:
- Graduate Student Graduation Checklist
- Ph.D. Plan of Study
- Confirm that committee forms are current
- Follow the COE Thesis and Dissertation Guide
- Submit Dissertation Defense Announcement to ENG-MAEGrad@usf.edu at least 2 weeks before your defense
- Ensure your defense meets the COE deadline
- Submit Successful Defense Form to Catherine Burton (sburton@usf.edu)
- Submit Certificate of Approval via the ETD process
- Each committee member completes the Defense Assessment Rubric
- Faculty Advisor collects and submits to ENG-MAEGrad@usf.edu
College of Engineering Induction into the Profession Ceremony
The ceremony is held each spring and fall, usually on Friday of Commencement weekend.
Invitations are sent:
- In early March for spring graduates
- In early October for fall graduates
Summer graduates may contact their advisor to inquire about participation.
Please make sure you apply to graduate in Student Self Service by the deadline to receive an invitation to the ceremony.
